DAR ES SALAAM, July 5  – Tanzania's Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, responsible for Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities, Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi, has praised the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) for accelerating the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of district roads, saying the investments are transforming transport and improving livelihoods across the country.

Speaking during a visit to the Prime Minister's Office pavilion at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, Prof. Kabudi said TARURA's infrastructure projects had significantly improved access to essential public services, including healthcare, education and markets, while supporting economic activity in both rural and urban communities.

He said the agency's work had contributed to major improvements in Tanzania's transport network, making travel and the movement of goods more efficient.

During the visit, Prof. Kabudi reviewed progress on several TARURA projects and received briefings on alternative technologies being adopted in road construction, maintenance and rehabilitation.

Officials said the technologies are helping improve project efficiency, reduce construction costs and deliver more durable road infrastructure for communities across the country.

The annual Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, commonly known as Sabasaba, is being used by government institutions to showcase development projects, public services and technological innovations aimed at supporting Tanzania's economic growth.
