The Dodoma City Council has stepped up efforts to attract local and foreign investment by showcasing the capital city's growing business potential at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) 2026.

Making its debut at the annual trade exhibition, the council is using the platform to market Dodoma as an emerging investment destination, highlighting opportunities in land acquisition, business development, and strategic sectors that are expected to drive economic growth.

Speaking at the council's exhibition booth at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Grounds in Dar es Salaam, Information Officer Nancy Kivuyo said the city has continued to improve its investment climate by creating a business-friendly environment supported by efficient service delivery systems.

"We have strengthened the investment environment by introducing efficient and investor-friendly systems that enable services to be delivered quickly and conveniently while reducing unnecessary bureaucracy," she said.

Kivuyo noted that the council's participation is intended to connect potential investors with opportunities available in Tanzania's political capital, which has experienced rapid urban expansion in recent years.

She said visitors to the Dodoma City Council pavilion are receiving information and advisory services on investment opportunities, land acquisition, land administration, and procedures for establishing businesses within the city.

"During this year's exhibition, we are offering guidance on access to investment land, land administration services, business opportunities in fast-growing strategic sectors, and the procedures investors need to follow when investing in Dodoma City," she said.

The exhibition has already attracted interest from prospective investors and members of the public seeking to explore opportunities in the city.

Dar es Salaam resident Omary Nyange said the council's participation had provided him with practical information on purchasing plots and investing in Dodoma.

"I congratulate the council for taking part in this exhibition. The questions I had about buying plots and investing in Dodoma have been answered, and I now know where to begin," he said.

The Dodoma City Council is participating in the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, which runs from June 28 to July 13, 2026, under the theme: "The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) is Tanzania's Pride."
