A delegation from the Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA) has visited Qatar’s national utility corporation, Kahramaa, to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for strategic cooperation in electricity and infrastructure management.

The visit, held on June 9, 2026, was part of TEMESA’s participation in the Project Qatar 2026 exhibition and conference.

It aimed to enable the Tanzanian delegation to learn from international best practices in engineering services, electricity infrastructure, and maintenance management.

During the engagement, TEMESA officials were introduced to Kahramaa’s advanced operational systems and innovative technologies used in the transmission and distribution of electricity and water services across Qatar.

Discussions focused on digital transformation, asset management, operational efficiency, sustainability initiatives, predictive maintenance, and customer service improvement.

The delegation also examined how smart technologies are being used to improve service reliability, enhance infrastructure performance, and support long-term national development goals.

Kahramaa officials shared their experiences in promoting energy efficiency, water conservation, and the adoption of modern technological solutions to ensure sustainable utility service delivery.

Leading the delegation, Awesi Habibu Mohamed, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Qatar, commended Kahramaa for its hospitality and openness in sharing expertise.

He said such engagements are important in strengthening institutional capacity, promoting international cooperation, and identifying innovative approaches that can help improve public service delivery in Tanzania.

The visit also opened discussions on potential collaboration in engineering services, electricity infrastructure management, fleet management systems, smart street lighting, traffic signal management technologies, and predictive maintenance software.

According to TEMESA, the engagement reflects the agency’s commitment to learning from global best practices and building partnerships with leading institutions to promote innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable infrastructure development.

The delegation reaffirmed its intention to apply the knowledge and experience gained from the visit to support the modernization of public service delivery systems and infrastructure management in Tanzania.
