Mbeya City head coach Salum Mayanga has declared his side ready for the fight to avoid relegation, insisting the team is fully focused on securing its Mainland Premier League status for next season.

The Mbeya-based outfit will resume league action on June 13 with a crucial home clash against Mtibwa Sugar at Sokoine Stadium, a match that could significantly influence the club’s survival hopes following the FIFA international break.

Speaking during a training session, Mayanga said the coaching staff had taken advantage of the break to address areas that have hampered the team’s performance this season, particularly defensive lapses and the conversion of scoring opportunities.

He revealed that intensive training sessions have been conducted to sharpen the squad ahead of the decisive final stretch of the campaign.

"The technical bench has completed its work by making the necessary corrections and preparations. What remains now is for the players to execute what we have practised on the pitch and turn it into positive results," said Mayanga.

The coach stressed that every remaining fixture will be approached with maximum determination, noting that the team understands the importance of collecting points to move away from the relegation zone.

Mayanga expressed confidence in his players' commitment and fighting spirit, adding that the squad remains united in its quest to finish the season strongly.

Meanwhile, Mbeya City midfielder Eliud Ambokile assured supporters that the players are prepared to give everything for the club in the remaining matches.

He said the squad appreciates the unwavering support from fans and believes their encouragement will be crucial as the team battles to secure its place in the top flight.

"We are ready to fight for this badge and do everything possible to achieve positive results. We ask our supporters not to lose faith in us. Their support gives us the motivation, confidence and energy to keep pushing forward," said Ambokile.

With only a handful of matches left before the season concludes, Mbeya City faces a defining period in its campaign.

A positive result against Mtibwa Sugar would provide a significant boost to the club's survival ambitions and strengthen confidence within the squad as the battle to avoid relegation intensifies.

As pressure mounts across the league table, Mayanga and his players remain determined to ensure Mbeya City retains its place among Tanzania's football elite next season.
