Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) Executive Director Lazaro Twange has underscored the importance of strengthening public awareness on energy services and opportunities as the country continues to expand access to electricity and other energy resources.
Speaking during a visit to the Ministry of Energy’s pavilion at the ongoing Public Service Week exhibitions at Chinangali Grounds in Dodoma, Twange said progress in the energy sector has been supported by close cooperation between the ministry and its institutions in implementing projects aimed at improving the availability of energy services across the country.
He noted that continued investment in energy infrastructure has contributed to increased access to electricity and other energy solutions, helping to support economic activities and improve the livelihoods of Tanzanians.
Twange also emphasized the need for sustained public education to ensure citizens are well informed about the services, programmes and opportunities available within the energy sector.
According to him, greater awareness would enable more people to benefit from government investments while encouraging public participation in initiatives that contribute to national development.
The Public Service Week exhibitions have continued to provide a platform for government institutions to engage directly with citizens, explain their services and receive feedback on areas that require improvement.
At the event, the Ministry of Energy and its institutions are showcasing ongoing projects in electricity, natural gas and clean cooking energy while providing information on efforts to expand access to reliable and affordable energy services.
Officials say the exhibitions are helping to improve public understanding of the energy sector and creating an avenue for citizens to share their views on service delivery as the government pursues broader social and economic development goals.
