Joy and celebration filled Kalamba Village in Kalemawe Ward, Same District, as hundreds of residents gathered to warmly welcome home young footballer Issa Chole after representing Tanzania at the continental stage.
The rising talent, Issa Chole, recently featured for Tanzania’s national U-17 team, the Serengeti Boys, during the AFCON 2026 tournament.
His return home turned into a moment of pride, with villagers, leaders, and youth celebrating his achievement as a milestone for both Same District and the country.
The event was led by the Member of Parliament for Same Mashariki, Anne Kilango, who praised Issa Chole’s achievement, saying it reflects the importance of investing in young people and giving them platforms to develop their talents.
She said Chole’s success is not only personal but also a reflection of community efforts to support youth through sports development programmes.
According to her, initiatives such as the Samia Cup have played a key role in identifying and nurturing young talents across the constituency.
She noted that many young players have benefited from the Samia Cup, which has created opportunities for exposure, discipline, and career growth in football.
She encouraged continued support for such programmes, saying they are important in shaping the future of the youth.
