The Tanzania Police Force in the Dar es Salaam Special Zone has confirmed the recovery of the head of James Temba, a student of the Institute of Finance Management (IFM), whose body was previously found in the Msimbazi River on April 30, 2026.

Speaking to the media, Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Commander, SACP Jumanne Muliro, said the head was discovered buried in the Kibeberu area of Kitunda in Ilala District, following intensive investigations carried out by police officers.

SACP Muliro said the police have arrested five suspects in connection with the killing, including a traditional healer, as investigations continue to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

He added that preliminary investigations indicate that the crime may be linked to different possible motives, including beliefs in superstition and relationship-related issues, although the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.

The police commander assured citizens that the investigation is ongoing and more details will be made public once established, emphasizing that law enforcement agencies are committed to ensuring justice is served.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and continue cooperating with security organs as investigations into the incident continue.
