Mineral indicative prices for April 06, 2026

The Mining Commission of Tanzania has released the latest indicative prices for gold, silver, and copper, providing critical guidance for miners, traders, and investors across the country.

According to the Commission, the world market price for gold currently stands at USD 4,691 per troy ounce, equivalent to Tanzania Shillings (TZS) 392,603 per gram. Meanwhile, the local mineral market price is set at TZS 353,342 per gram, with buying centre prices slightly lower at TZS 345,491 per gram.

Silver has also seen consistent market stability, with the world price at USD 72.90 per troy ounce or TZS 6,101 per gram. The mineral market price is TZS 5,491 per gram, while the buying centre price is TZS 5,369 per gram.

Copper, an essential industrial metal, is priced at USD 5.56 per pound on the world market, translating to TZS 31.91 per gram. Locally, copper is traded at TZS 28.72 per gram in the mineral market and TZS 28.08 per gram at buying centres.

The Mining Commission emphasized that these indicative prices serve as a guideline to ensure fairness, transparency, and market stability for miners and traders. They also reflect global market trends while providing a benchmark for local transactions.
