By The Respondents Reporter

The commission led by Judge Chande has been described as a critical pathway for Tanzania to overcome divisions stemming from the events of October 29.

Former president of the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), Dr Edward Hosea, said the commission offers hope for restoring national unity after tensions that left the country divided.

Speaking in Iringa on Saturday, Dr Hosea stressed that the commission’s work could help the nation move beyond the challenges associated with the disputed events.

He said the country would “cross the bridge safely” once the commission’s report is made public, noting that transparency will allow citizens to understand the findings and recommendations.

Dr Hosea added that releasing the report to the public is essential for rebuilding trust, strengthening democratic values, and promoting reconciliation among Tanzanians.
