The Leader of ACT Wazalendo, Dorothy Semu, has chaired a regular meeting of the party’s National Steering Committee, which discussed key national and party issues, including the current political situation in Tanzania.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the party’s Vuga offices in Zanzibar. It brought together senior leaders from both Zanzibar and Mainland Tanzania, in what was described as an important session aimed at strengthening coordination and unity within the party.
The meeting was attended by the National Chairperson, Othman Masoud Othman, alongside Vice Chairperson for Zanzibar, Ismail Jussa, and Vice Chairperson for Mainland Tanzania, Is-haka Mchinjita.
Also present were Secretary General Ado Shaibu Ado, Deputy Secretary for Zanzibar Omar Ali Shehe, and Deputy Secretary General for Mainland Tanzania Ester Thomas.
Other senior party figures who participated included Party Attorney General Omar Said Shaaban, former party leader Zitto Zubeir Kabwe, and former National Chairperson Juma Duni Haji.
The session also brought together experienced political leaders such as the Leader of Opposition in the House of Representatives, Professor Omar Fakih Hamad, and former Deputy Secretary General for Zanzibar Nassor Ahmed Mazrui.
According to party information, the leaders used the meeting to exchange views on national political developments and internal party affairs.
Key discussions focused on strengthening organizational structures, improving coordination between Zanzibar and Mainland leadership, and enhancing the party’s readiness to respond to political and governance issues affecting citizens.
