The United Republic of Tanzania is in mourning following the passing of William Vangimembe Lukuvi, Member of Parliament for Isimani and Minister of State in the President’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination, and Persons with Disabilities).
President Samia Suluhu Hassan has expressed her heartfelt condolences, noting that Lukuvi passed away on March 25, 2026, at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in Dodoma, where he had been receiving treatment for a heart condition.

Throughout his tenure, he was widely respected for his dedication, integrity, and tireless service to his constituents in Isimani and to the nation at large.
In a public statement, the President extended her sympathies to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Lukuvi’s family, the people of Isimani, relatives, friends, and all Tanzanians affected by this great loss.
Lukuvi’s legacy of public service, commitment to governance, and devotion to the welfare of Tanzanians will be remembered for generations.
May his soul rest in peace.
