Family, friends, and well-wishers gathered today, March 8, 2026, to bid farewell to Ms. Anyambilile M. Kilindu, mother of senior journalist and Full Shangwe Media Director, Mr. John Bukuku.
The memorial service was held at the Bukuku family home in Madale before the body was transported to Mbeya for burial.
The service was led by Pastor Onesmo Kasyama of the Moravian Church, who guided attendees in prayers and reflections on the life of the late Ms. Kilindu.
Mourners described her as a woman of deep faith and kindness. “She was a person who lived her life serving God and others. Her love and guidance will be dearly missed,” said one family friend.
Born on March 22, 1930, in Mbeya, Ms. Kilindu passed away on March 7, 2026, while receiving treatment at Mwananyamala Referral Hospital in Dar es Salaam.
During the service, relatives and friends shared memories of her unwavering devotion to family, community, and faith. Many noted that her legacy of compassion and integrity will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Mr. Bukuku, visibly emotional, thanked everyone for their support, emphasizing the comfort that comes from seeing the outpouring of love for his mother.
The late Ms. Kilindu’s journey came full circle as her body was prepared for final rites in her home region, marking the end of a life celebrated for faith, family, and service.
