The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) has taken a major step in empowering women entrepreneurs, hosting the Think Equal Lead Smart (TELS) – Women MSMEs Capacity Building Workshop in Namanga, Arusha.
The event drew over 400 women from across the region, all eager to strengthen their business skills and market reach.
The workshop focused on enhancing competitiveness in both domestic and international markets, with special emphasis on the National Brand for Goods and Services – Made in Tanzania.
TanTrade experts guided participants on the benefits of adopting the national brand, as well as the procedures for registration, helping entrepreneurs boost credibility and product value.
Speaking at the workshop, TanTrade officials highlighted the authority’s ongoing commitment to women’s economic empowerment and its strategic role in promoting Tanzanian products abroad.
“Empowering women in business is not only about economic growth, but also about building a strong national identity for our products,” they said.
Participants praised the initiative, noting that the training equipped them with practical knowledge to expand their businesses and access new markets.
The workshop is part of TanTrade’s wider efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and elevate the profile of Tanzanian goods on the global stage.
Through initiatives like TELS, TanTrade continues to foster innovation, competitiveness, and confidence among women entrepreneurs, ensuring that Tanzanian products stand out both at home and internationally.
