The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, Ms. Agness Meena, has called on ministry staff to embrace strong cooperation and teamwork to boost performance and achieve the sector’s goals more effectively.
Ms. Meena made the remarks at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Mtumba Government City, Dodoma, during a ceremony to welcome the new Deputy Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry.
“I urge all staff to continue supporting the leadership so that together we can achieve the objectives we have set,” Ms. Meena said.
The Permanent Secretary also expressed gratitude to the outgoing Deputy Permanent Secretary for their contribution to the development of the sector and congratulated the new leaders for being entrusted with these key positions.
Speaking at the ceremony, the outgoing Deputy Permanent Secretary (Fisheries), Dr. Edwini Mhede, said his tenure had been a period of learning and growth in both the livestock and fisheries sectors.
He thanked President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and ministry leaders for their support, noting that teamwork and collaboration had been central to their achievements.
Dr. Mhede added that he has full confidence in the new leadership to continue advancing the Ministry’s mandate.
The new Deputy Permanent Secretary (Livestock), Dr. Fabian Madele, pledged to manage the livestock sector professionally, guided by scientific principles, and work in harmony with all staff.
Meanwhile, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Fisheries), Prof. Mohammed Sheikh, described his appointment as a responsibility to deliver outstanding results in implementing the National Vision 2050 and promoting the blue economy.
He emphasized that public service requires unity, dedication, and a workplace free of gossip and conflict to foster high performance.
Speaking on behalf of the ministry staff, Director of Production and Market Development, Mr. Stephen Michael, assured that all employees will continue to work collaboratively and support the leadership to ensure the Ministry fulfills its duties efficiently.
