The Tanzanian government continues to create employment opportunities abroad, with 500 boda boda riders set to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for work.
Youths from across the country have flocked to the National Transport Institute (NIT) in Dar es Salaam to register for the program.
This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing strategy to connect Tanzanians with overseas employment through official channels, ensuring their rights and safety are protected.
Speaking on February 10, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, Jane Sorogo, Acting Director of Employment Services at the Prime Minister’s Office – Labour, Employment, and Relations, said that youths have shown high interest during the interview process.
Following the Dar es Salaam interviews, the exercise will continue in Tanga and Mwanza regions.
“Youths who pass the interviews will proceed to employment centers in the UAE. I urge all young people to take full advantage of such opportunities, which are fully supported by the government,” Ms. Sorogo said.
Beneficiaries of the program have expressed their gratitude to the government for creating avenues for Tanzanian youth to work abroad.
They have also called for continued government guidance while working overseas and encouraged other youths to seize similar opportunities.
This program underscores the government’s commitment to empowering Tanzanian youth through safe and well-regulated employment opportunities beyond the country.
