“These new facilities, which began construction in 2023 and 2025, are expected to be ready before the end of this year,” said Kihenzile.
“They will enable TMA experts to work in modern conditions and provide citizens with reliable weather updates that are vital for daily life.”he added
Kihenzile also urged TMA’s management to ensure the projects are completed on time and to high standards.
He praised TMA for hiring a local contractor, the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), noting that it supports local expertise and strengthens Tanzanian institutions.
Weather updates are not just for curiosity they help farmers plan planting and harvesting, guide safe travel, and protect communities in coastal areas.
The Deputy Minister reminded citizens to rely on official TMA reports for daily decisions and safety.
With these investments, Tanzanians can look forward to faster, more accurate weather information that supports livelihoods, safety, and economic activities across the country.
