Tanzania is set to benefit significantly from hosting the Africa Premier Artificial Intelligence Conference (APAIC) 2025, scheduled to take place at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) from November 24 to 27.
This marks the first time the country will stage the high-profile event, which will be held under the theme: "Shaping the Future of Innovation, Autonomy and Human Potential."
The conference will focus on Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI)—systems that think, act, and learn autonomously—and its potential to drive Africa’s next wave of innovation, inclusion, and growth.
A key highlight of APAIC 2025 will be the unveiling of The Dawn Directive, the world’s first AI literacy and fluency framework developed with support from an Agentic AI system.
The framework is designed as a continental blueprint for AI education and ethical innovation, targeting policymakers, professionals, and institutions.
Briefing reporters in Dar es Salaam, SCANCODE Tanzania Founder Mgimba Faustine said the conference offers enormous opportunities for Tanzania and the continent.
"We are honored to host this historic gathering of over 1,200 delegates, 150 speakers, and participants from more than 40 countries. The conference will chart a new path for the growth of Agentic AI in Tanzania and across Africa," he said.
Mr Faustine also praised the government for its commitment to investing in digital infrastructure, skills training, and innovation hubs, positioning Tanzania as a regional ICT leader.
This year’s APAIC edition goes beyond discussions, aiming for co-creation. It will bring together governments, private sector leaders, investors, and innovators to define frameworks for responsible AI adoption across health, education, trade, agriculture, and governance.
The conference is powered by a partnership between SCANCODE Tanzania, HAM International, and global technology partners, including MindHYVE.ai (USA), a pioneering Agentic AI company led by Bill Faruki.
Together with African investment agencies and industry leaders, the partners are shaping a continental agenda focused on AI literacy, innovation ecosystems, and responsible governance.
APAIC is Africa’s foremost platform for advancing responsible Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation, aiming to turn the event into a movement for AI capacity-building and digital sovereignty.
The conference calls on governments, businesses, investors, educators, and development partners to join APAIC 2025, endorse the Mombasa Declaration on Agentic AI, adopt The Dawn Directive as a continental AI literacy framework, and invest in Africa’s AI startups and infrastructure.
Together, participants aim to shape not only Africa’s AI future but also the global trajectory of innovation, autonomy, and human potential.
