Zitto calls on Tanzanians to vote and shape future

By The Respondents Reporter

With just two weeks to go before Tanzania’s general elections on October 29, 2025, former ACT Wazalendo leader Zitto Kabwe has called on citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote, stressing that meaningful change can only come through active participation.

Speaking on October 14, 2025, during a campaign rally in Mirongo Ward, Nyamagana Constituency, Mwanza Region, Zitto said no government, including CCM, can be removed from power outside the electoral process.

“Change does not happen by staying away from the polls,” Zitto said. “Even if past elections left people frustrated, voting remains the most powerful tool for citizens to influence the country’s direction.”

He cautioned that CCM, as a party focused on retaining power, will continue to dominate if voters choose to sit out.

Drawing a parallel with religious leaders who persistently advocate against societal challenges despite setbacks, Zitto urged Tanzanians not to lose hope or abstain from the electoral process.

ACT Wazalendo’s parliamentary candidate for Nyamagana Constituency, Esther Thomas, promised tangible improvements for the community.

She pledged to establish modern libraries in every ward and introduce affordable, self-sustaining student transport services.

As the October 29 elections approach, Zitto’s message is clear: every Tanzanian has a role to play in shaping the nation’s future.

Voting is not just a right it is a responsibility, and the most effective way to hold leaders accountable and ensure governance reflects the people’s will.
