The Tanzania women’s national football team, Twiga Stars, has officially entered camp today as they gear up for a key WAFCON qualifying match against Zambia, set for October 22 at the Azam Complex in Chamazi, Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) spokesperson Clifford Mario Ndimbo said preparations have been smooth, with the camp organized to provide a comfortable and motivating environment for the players.
“Our focus is to perform strongly and secure a spot in the next stage. The squad has entered camp today, Monday, ready to prepare fully for this important fixture,” Ndimbo said.
The 24-player squad features top local talents including Najat Abbas, Asha Mrisho, Lidya Maximilian, Donisia Minja, Ester Maseke, Fumukazi Ally, Elizabeth Chenge, Stumai Abdallah, Christer Bahera, Jamila Rajabu, Winfrida Gerald, and Janeth Pangamwene.
Other local-based stars called up are Maimuna Kaimu (Yanga Princess), Fatuma Issa, Aisha Mnunka, Asha Ramadhan (Simba Queens), Nusrat Jaffar (Alliance Girls), Enekia Kasonga, Kuleta Singano (Juarez Mexico), and Noela Luhala (Asa Tel Aviv, Israel).
The squad also boasts international-based players bringing experience from abroad, including Diana Lucas (Trabzon Spor, Turkey), Clara Luvanga (Al Nasr, Saudi Arabia), Opa Clement (Eibar, Spain), and Hasnath Ubamba (Al Masry, Egypt).
With a mix of seasoned internationals and emerging local talents, Twiga Stars are determined to deliver a strong performance and keep Tanzania’s hopes alive in the WAFCON qualifiers.
