Tanzanians today witnessed an important moment in the nation’s leadership journey as Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi was officially sworn in as the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by the Chief Justice of Tanzania, Hon. George Masaju, at the Parade Grounds, State House Chamwino, in Dodoma.
After taking the oath of office, Chief Justice Masaju presented Dr. Nchimbi with a copy of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania a symbolic gesture reminding the new Vice President of his duty to uphold, defend, and protect the nation’s supreme law.
The event was attended by national leaders, members of the diplomatic community, religious representatives, and citizens who came together to celebrate the peaceful and democratic transition of leadership.
In his remarks after being sworn in, Vice President Dr. Nchimbi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President and to all Tanzanians for the trust and confidence placed in him.
