The Mining Commission has released indicative mineral prices for July 7, 2026, showing the current market values of gold, silver and copper in local and international markets.
According to the latest figures, gold continues to record a strong performance, with the world market price standing at US$4,161.89 per troy ounce, equivalent to Sh353,981.77 per gramme in the Tanzanian market.
The indicative mineral market price for gold is Sh318,583.59 per gramme, while the buying centre price has been set at Sh311,503.96 per gramme.
For silver, the world market price is US$62.07 per troy ounce, equivalent to Sh5,279.25 per gramme. The mineral market price stands at Sh4,751.32 per gramme, while buying centres are purchasing silver at Sh4,645.74 per gramme.
The Commission also announced copper prices, with the world market price reaching US$6.19 per pound, equivalent to Sh36.10 per gramme.
The mineral market price is Sh32.49 per gramme, while the buying centre price is Sh31.77 per gramme.
The release of indicative prices is part of the Mining Commission’s efforts to provide transparency in mineral trading and ensure miners, traders and other stakeholders have access to reliable market information.
The prices are expected to guide transactions at mineral markets and buying centres across the country, supporting fair valuation of minerals and strengthening Tanzania’s mining sector.
