The Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police have arrested Jenifer Bilikwiza Jovin, 26, a resident of Masaki Peninsula in Kinondoni, for allegedly inciting violence and promoting the destruction of infrastructure in the city ahead of the 2025 General Election.
According to a police statement released on October 27, 2025, the suspect was apprehended at around 3 p.m. in the Sinza Kumekucha area.
The police said preliminary investigations indicate that Jovin had been involved in mobilizing individuals to cause unrest in various parts of Dar es Salaam.
“The suspect is currently being interrogated, and further legal procedures are underway,” the statement read.
The Dar es Salaam Police Commander reaffirmed the force’s commitment to maintaining peace and order during the election period, warning that anyone attempting to destabilize security or damage public infrastructure will face legal action.
Authorities have also urged citizens to remain calm and report any suspicious activities that may threaten public safety as the country moves closer to polling day.
