The Board of Trustees of Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH) has announced that His Excellency Dr. Philip Isdor Mpango, Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, will pay an official working visit to the hospital on September 3, 2025.
According to the hospital, the visit will focus on laying the foundation stone for the construction of a state-of-the-art cancer treatment and training center, valued at TZS 30.4 billion.
During his visit, the Vice President will also officially launch the expansion of the kidney transplant unit, a project worth TZS 1.7 billion.
The ceremony will provide an opportunity for the Tanzanian government, through BMH, to witness the country’s progress in establishing a specialized center for organ transplantation and hematology, aimed at serving the East African region.
The hospital has invited all members of the public to attend the important event, which will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The announcement was issued by Ndg. Jeremiah Mwakyoma, Acting Head of the Communications and Public Relations Department at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital.
