Professional golfer Fadhyl Nkya continued his winning streak at the fourth round of the Lina PG Tour, held in honor of the late national women’s golf star Lina Nkya, taking home TZS 6.8 million.

The tournament, which began on September 25 and concluded yesterday, attracted professional players, elite amateurs, and caddies from across Tanzania. Fadhyl’s victory marks his fifth consecutive win in the competition.

In the professional category, Rajab Iddy finished second with TZS 4.3 million, while Hassan Kadio and Nuru Mollel took third and fourth positions. John Said, Elisante Lembris, and John Leonce completed the top seven.

Among elite amateurs, Isiaka Dunia claimed first place and TZS 2.2 million. Enoshi Wanyeche was second with TZS 1.3 million, while Hawa Wanyeche finished third, earning TZS 900,000.

Fadhyl attributed his success to disciplined practice and participation in international tournaments.

“Anyone can win in this sport, but competing abroad has kept me sharp and ready for domestic competitions,” he said.

He emphasized that more local tournaments are essential to prepare Tanzanian players for international success.

Enock Magile, one of the tournament organizers, thanked participants and urged those who missed out on top positions to continue training.

He confirmed that the fifth and final round of the Lina PG Tour will take place in November at Kili Golf Course in Arusha.

“The Morogoro round started well and concluded successfully. We urge players to prepare thoroughly for the final round to ensure Tanzania is well represented in international competitions,” Magile said.

The winner of the fifth round will represent Tanzania in global tournaments in Dubai next year.
