TFRA to provide fertiliser services and investments information at Public Service Week Exhibition

Our reporter, Dodoma

The Tanzania Fertilizer Regulatory Authority (TFRA) has invited farmers, traders, investors and other stakeholders to visit its pavilion at the National Public Service Week exhibition in Dodoma to access a range of services and information aimed at improving the country’s fertiliser sector.

The exhibition, which runs from June 16 to 23 at Chinangali Park under the theme “Promoting Inclusive Accountability for Sustainable Service Delivery,” will provide a platform for TFRA to engage directly with the public and offer various regulatory and advisory services.

Among the services available at the TFRA pavilion will be the issuance of permits for the importation and export of fertiliser, information on fertiliser trade training programmes, guidance on proper fertiliser storage and use, as well as registration and licensing services for fertiliser businesses through the Fertilizer Electronic Enabling System (FEES).

Visitors will also receive information on investment opportunities in local fertiliser manufacturing and supporting industries, fertiliser laboratory testing services, and have an opportunity to receive immediate responses to questions related to the fertiliser industry.

TFRA planned to further assist farmers with registration and updating of their details in the agricultural input subsidy system to ensure they continue accessing government-supported agricultural inputs.

The authority said the services are being provided in line with the Fertilizer Act No. 9 of 2009, which governs the regulation of fertiliser production, importation, distribution and use in Tanzania.

TFRA has encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the exhibition to obtain reliable information and services concerning the fertiliser industry.

TFRA’s guiding message remains: “Quality fertiliser for all farmers.”
