Tanzanian clubs Azam FC and Singida Black Stars are gearing up for their debut matches in the CAF Confederation Cup tomorrow, with each team set to play in different countries.
Azam will travel to South Sudan to face hosts Al-Merriekh, while Singida Black Stars will represent Tanzania in Kigali, Rwanda, taking on Rayon Sports in their opening fixture.
Speaking ahead of the match, Azam’s Media Officer, Hashim Ibwe, said the squad is well-prepared and highly motivated to deliver a strong performance.
He emphasized that the team has undergone thorough training to ensure they secure maximum points away from home.
“Our preparations are going very well. The players are eager and determined, and even the coach is excited about this challenge. We aim to make a strong impression and perform at our best in this important match,” Ibwe said.
On the other hand, Singida Black Stars’ Technical Director, Ramadhan Nsanzurwino, highlighted the team’s ambition to build on their recent success.
He noted that winning the CECAFA Kagame Cup earlier this year has strengthened their confidence and determination to compete at the continental level.
“Our players are focused on extending the joy brought by the CECAFA Kagame Cup victory. We have experienced players who understand international competitions, and we expect everyone to give their best on the field,” Nsanzurwino said.
Both clubs are entering the tournament with high hopes, aiming to make Tanzania proud as they take on strong regional opponents in their opening CAF Confederation Cup fixtures.
