The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, on Sunday joined Catholic faithful and religious leaders in celebrating a Holy Mass marking the priestly ordination and official opening of the Jubilee Year for the 50th anniversary of the Kiwanja cha Ndege Parish in Dodoma Region.

The solemn Mass was held at the Blessed Maria Theresa Ledochowska Catholic Church – Kiwanja cha Ndege, and was presided over by the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Dodoma, His Grace Beatus Kinyaiya.

In his homily, Archbishop Kinyaiya urged believers to turn out and vote in the upcoming General Election, emphasizing the need to elect leaders who will serve diligently for the next five years.

He also called on the public to use artificial intelligence (AI) wisely and ethically, warning against misuse that could promote fraud and moral decay in society.

Three deacons were ordained into priesthood during the Holy Mass: Father Joseph Ibrahim, Father Sajilo Mark, and Father Damian Mtanduzi.

The event was a major milestone for the Catholic community, symbolizing continuity of spiritual leadership.

In addition to the ordination and jubilee launch, the Mass featured the laying of a foundation stone for the construction of a Catechism building  a facility dedicated to religious education and formation at the Blessed Maria Theresa Ledochowska Parish.

The celebration drew hundreds of worshippers, clergy, and local leaders, reflecting the deep-rooted faith and unity within the Catholic community in Dodoma.
