Former Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda is set to be the official guest at this year’s Nane Nane Eastern Zone exhibition, scheduled to take place at the Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere Grounds in Morogoro.
Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Adam Malima, confirmed that preparations for the event are nearly complete, with 98 percent readiness achieved.
He revealed that the exhibition is expected to attract over 80,000 visitors, with more than 500 exhibitors participating.
“This year’s exhibition promises to be unique due to significant improvements, including resolving the water supply challenges that previously affected vendors and various service providers,” Malima said.
The event will offer farmers and stakeholders an opportunity to receive specialized training on efficient crop production, modern livestock management, and fish farming aimed at boosting incomes and promoting sustainable social and economic development through Business to Business (B2B) platforms.
Training sessions will run from August 2 to August 8, the exhibition’s closing day. Each day, over 100 participants are expected to benefit from lessons on improved agriculture, modern animal husbandry, and agribusiness.
“From August 2 through 8, we expect to train at least 100 participants daily. Sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” Malima explained.
Key training topics will include soil health management, climate change adaptation, the importance of certified crops, taxation, crop processing, harvesting techniques to reduce post-harvest losses, and proper food storage.
Morogoro Regional Administrative Secretary, Dr. Mussa Ally Mussa, added that last year’s exhibition saw the participation of 6,800 students, emphasizing that school children and children under five years old enjoy free entry.
The Nane Nane Eastern Zone exhibition brings together the regions of Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Tanga, and Morogoro.
This year’s theme is: “Choose Good Leaders for Sustainable Development of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, 2025.”
