176 players gear up for National Pool Championship in Iringa

A total of 176 players are set to battle for supremacy in the National Pool Championship, which kicks off today, July 5, and runs through July 7 in Iringa Region.

According to the Secretary General of the Tanzania Pool Association (TAPA), Abdallah Omar Abdullah, the players represent 24 clubs from different regions across the country. He confirmed that all preparations have been completed, and the stage is fully set for the thrilling three-day competition.

“Everything is ready, and the players are in high spirits. Each one has prepared thoroughly and is coming into the championship with clear goals,” Abdullah told The Respondent Online.

 “We are confident that the competition will be fair and the champion will emerge based on merit.”he added

He noted that the championship will also serve as a platform to scout and select players for the national pool team, which is expected to participate in various upcoming international competitions this year.

Abdullah called on sports stakeholders, sponsors, and fans to continue supporting the event, saying their contribution is vital to the growth and success of pool as a sport in Tanzania.

“We welcome anyone with a passion for supporting sports development to join us. The door remains open for partnerships and sponsorships,” he said.

The tournament is expected to showcase top talent and ignite excitement among fans, as players aim not only for the national title but also a chance to represent Tanzania on the global stage.
