Speaking on behalf of the Minister of State,  Mohamed Mchengerwa, during a welcoming session held today, May 28, 2025, at the TAMISEMI Sokoine Hall in Dodoma,Katimba said Tanzania's Regional Administration and Local Government system plays a vital role in coordinating and overseeing government activities at regional and local levels.

Katimba further elaborated that the Ministry is also responsible for supervising the delivery of essential public services, particularly in education, health, and infrastructure; advancing decentralization and good governance; enhancing collaboration between the central and local governments; resolving disputes at the council and grassroots levels; and improving service delivery to citizens.

“These responsibilities are fundamental to promoting inclusive development, enhancing service delivery to our people, and fostering participatory governance principles we believe are mutually valued by both Tanzania and Zambia,” she emphasized.

On behalf of the Zambian delegation, Twaambo Mutinta, MP Head of Delegation and Chairperson of the Committee on Local Government, Housing, and Chiefs’ Affairs expressed sincere appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the President’s Office – TAMISEMI.
