Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has pledged a reward of $100,000 to Simba Sports Club if they win the CAF Confederation Cup title.

Dr. Mwinyi made the announcement during a meeting with Simba SC officials and players at the Madinat Al Bahr Hotel, where he expressed his support and encouragement ahead of the club’s crucial final.

The President wished the team success in the final match, scheduled for tomorrow at 4:00 PM at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar.

Simba will face Moroccan side RS Berkane, with President Mwinyi set to attend as the Guest of Honour.

He commended the club’s efforts in reaching the final and assured them of the full support from both the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (SMZ) and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (SMT).

He urged the players to remain confident and focused as they chase their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup title.

“I believe in your ability and determination. Play with confidence and make history for yourselves, your club, and your country,” said Dr. Mwinyi.

He also called on football fans across Tanzania to rally behind Simba SC with unity and passion, saying their support will serve as a vital boost to the players on the field.

This is Simba SC’s second appearance in a CAF competition final. The first came in 1993 when they faced Ivory Coast’s Stella Abidjan in the CAF Cup final at the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The late President Ali Hassan Mwinyi, who served as Guest of Honour on that occasion, witnessed the match, which Simba unfortunately lost.
