Yanga SC will face Al Hilal tomorrow night in Mauritania in a decisive CAF Champions League group stage match scheduled for 10 PM local time.
The Tanzanian champions must secure a positive result in this away fixture to keep their hopes of advancing alive. Their qualification depends on accumulating enough points in the remaining games to stay in contention.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, former Yanga star Bakari Malima, popularly known as "Jembe Ulaya," stressed that the players’ determination and effort will be key to securing the much-needed result.
“Yanga’s chances of qualifying rest entirely on the players. It’s about how much they want it and their ability to fight for a positive outcome,” he stated.
Malima described the encounter as a “do-or-die” fixture, one that will determine Yanga’s future in the competition.
“This match is a final for Yanga. They must deliver a good result so that when they return home, they can finish the job,” he added.
He further noted that the team understands the stakes and the level of competition required on the international stage. “Yanga is aware of the significance of this match. Their focus is now on excelling internationally and establishing themselves as a force in African football,” he said.
Yanga currently sits third in their group with 4 points, behind Al Hilal, who leads with 10 points, and MC Alger, who has 8 points.
