Attorney general mourns the passing of Judge Werema

The Attorney General,  Hamza S. Johari, has paid tribute to the late retired Attorney General, Judge Frederick Werema, during his funeral held on January 4, 2025, in Kongoto Village, Butiama District, Mara Region.Delivering his condolences,

Johari described Judge Werema as a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly to ensure the government upheld the rule of law and operated with transparency. 

He commended the late Judge for his courage in addressing challenges within the legal sector and implementing reforms that brought tangible benefits to citizens and the nation.

“Judge Werema’s legacy is a beacon of inspiration, a foundation upon which we continue to build today,” said  Johari.

He stressed the importance of preserving and advancing the legal principles and systems established by Judge Werema, noting their critical role in strengthening the legal profession and promoting national progress.

“His contributions remain a cornerstone for the growth of the Attorney General’s Office and the legal sector across the country,” he added.

 Johari lauded Judge Werema’s lasting impact on Tanzania’s legal landscape and public service, highlighting his significant role in legal affairs and the pursuit of justice.

 “Judge Werema has left an indelible mark on our nation, and his unwavering commitment to justice will forever be remembered,” he concluded.
