The Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) has received infusion pumps worth TZS23 million from Lions Club International, in a move expected to improve the accuracy and safety of treatment for patients.
The equipment was handed over to the hospital on Tuesday as part of efforts to strengthen the quality of medical services and reduce risks associated with administering medicines and fluids to patients.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the MNH Executive Director, Director of Integrated Medicine Dr Mbonea Yonazi said the equipment would improve the hospital’s ability to provide patients with treatment according to their specific needs.
“These devices will help improve service delivery and ensure that patients receive appropriate care according to their needs. This is a significant contribution towards strengthening patient safety and the quality of services we provide,” Dr Yonazi said.
Infusion pumps are used to deliver controlled amounts of medicines, fluids and other treatments to patients, making them particularly important in cases where precise doses are required.
Dr Yonazi thanked Lions Club International for supporting the hospital, saying the donation would contribute to efforts to improve the efficiency and safety of patient care.
MNH has continued to invest in modern medical technologies as part of efforts to improve the accuracy, efficiency and safety of services provided to patients.
The donation also highlights the role of partnerships between healthcare institutions and organisations in supporting the provision of medical equipment and strengthening public health services.
