Young Africans (Yanga) maintained their perfect start to the NBC Premier League season after cruising to a convincing 4-0 victory over JKT Tanzania at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam on Monday.
The emphatic win saw Yanga collect another three points and retain top spot in the league standings, underlining their early dominance in the title race.
Yanga took the lead in the 28th minute when Albert Kagwanda found the back of the net, giving the defending champions the breakthrough they needed.
The hosts quickly built on their advantage, with Ibrahim Bacca doubling the lead six minutes later to put JKT Tanzania under mounting pressure.
Yanga continued to control the match and were rewarded with a third goal through Chadrack Boka before the interval, sending the team into half-time with a commanding 3-0 lead.
After the restart, Yanga showed no signs of easing off. Peter Shalulile added the fourth goal in the 63rd minute to complete a comprehensive victory.
JKT Tanzania struggled to find a response as Yanga managed the remainder of the game comfortably, eventually securing a clean sheet and a four-goal margin at the final whistle.
The victory takes Yanga to nine points, level with second-placed Simba. Yanga, however, remain at the summit courtesy of a superior goal difference.
The result will further boost Yanga's confidence as they continue their campaign, while JKT Tanzania will be left looking for a quick response in their next league outing.
