Visitors attending the ongoing Nanenane exhibitions in Dodoma are getting a glimpse of Tanzania’s wildlife wonders through digital technology, as the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) showcases live tourism experiences at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism pavilion.
The initiative has enabled visitors to explore Ngorongoro’s iconic attractions through social media platforms and a large digital screen installed at the pavilion, bringing closer the experience of one of Tanzania’s most celebrated tourism destinations.
Through the digital displays, visitors have been able to watch wildlife scenes featuring some of the country’s most treasured species, including rhinos, elephants, zebras, antelopes, wildebeests, lions and buffaloes in their natural environment.
The technology-driven approach reflects growing efforts by tourism stakeholders to use innovation in promoting domestic tourism and expanding awareness of Tanzania’s natural heritage.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority Tourism and Marketing Manager, Mariam Kobelo, said the authority was investing in modern solutions to make tourism experiences more accessible while improving services offered to visitors.
“Ngorongoro is a unique destination, and we are committed to using modern technologies to reach more people and allow them to experience its wonders and exceptional stories,” Ms Kobelo said.
She said the authority was also continuing to improve tourism infrastructure and services to ensure visitors enjoy quality experiences when they visit the conservation area.
Ms Kobelo noted that digital platforms had become an important avenue for showcasing Tanzania’s attractions to both local and international audiences, allowing people to discover destinations before travelling.
“Technology gives us an opportunity to share the beauty of Ngorongoro with a wider audience and inspire more people to visit and experience the destination,” she said.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area remains one of Tanzania’s leading tourism destinations, recognised for its rich wildlife, unique ecosystem and cultural heritage.
