TRA says qualified unsuccessful applicants remain in recruitment database

The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has assured applicants who qualified in its previous recruitment exercise but were not offered jobs that they remain in the authority's recruitment database and could be considered for future vacancies.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, July 12, TRA said the clarification follows reports circulating among job seekers regarding recruitment through its existing database.

The authority said it conducted interviews between February and June 2025 to fill 1,596 vacant positions, with successful candidates appointed according to the number of available posts.

TRA explained that although some candidates successfully passed the interviews, they could not be hired because the available vacancies had already been filled.

Their details have therefore been retained in the recruitment database for possible consideration when new positions become available.

"The authority has kept these candidates in its database and they may be considered for employment as vacancies arise," the statement said.

According to TRA, new vacancies may emerge for various reasons, including employees leaving the institution in accordance with public service regulations, creating an opportunity to recruit from the existing pool of qualified candidates.

At the same time, the tax authority cautioned the public against misinformation suggesting that recruitment is currently underway through the database.

Instead, it urged prospective applicants to rely only on official recruitment announcements published on the authority's website and verified social media platforms.
