The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Joint Pavilion at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba 2026) has emerged as an important platform for citizens to access information, understand government programmes and seek clarification on public services.

The pavilion has attracted thousands of visitors who are learning about government initiatives in areas including healthcare, education, local government services, employment, social security and economic empowerment.

Deputy Permanent Secretary responsible for Health at the Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG), Prof. Tumaini Nagu, praised the services being offered at the pavilion, saying the initiative has strengthened engagement between the government and the public.

During her visit to the pavilion at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds in Dar es Salaam, Prof. Nagu said the exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for citizens to interact directly with government institutions and understand how various programmes are improving people’s lives.

“The pavilion has become an important avenue for educating citizens about government programmes and services aimed at improving social welfare and accelerating national development,” she said.

She commended officials working at the pavilion for their commitment to providing accurate information and ensuring visitors receive proper guidance on services offered by the Prime Minister’s Office and its affiliated institutions.

Prof. Nagu urged government representatives to continue using the exhibition to listen to citizens’ concerns, collect feedback and provide clear explanations on available services, noting that public participation is essential in improving service delivery.

The PMO Joint Pavilion brings together several institutions under one roof, allowing citizens to access information from multiple government agencies without having to visit different offices.

Participating institutions include the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF), Workers Compensation Fund (WCF), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA), National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC), Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC), Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA), Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS), Drugs Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA), Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (DART), Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), Local Government Training Institute (LGTI), and Kariakoo Market Corporation.

Prof. Nagu also congratulated the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE) and other stakeholders for organising the exhibition, encouraging more citizens to visit the pavilion and take advantage of the opportunity to learn about government services and development programmes.

The 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair is being held at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Trade Fair Grounds under the theme “Sabasaba International Trade Fair is Tanzania’s Pride,” focusing on promoting trade, investment and innovation as part of efforts to strengthen Tanzania’s economic growth.
