Gold prices in Tanzania have remained above the Sh300,000 per gram mark, with the Mining Commission’s latest indicative prices showing strong values for precious and industrial minerals in the local market.
According to the Mineral Indicative Prices released on July 29, 2026, the buying centre price for gold stood at Sh309,101.05 per gram, while the mineral market price was recorded at Sh316,126.07 per gram.
The international gold market price was listed at US$4,106.10 per troy ounce, equivalent to Sh351,251.19 per gram based on the prevailing conversion rate used by the Mining Commission.
The figures provide guidance to miners, mineral traders and buyers in determining fair market values for gold transactions across the country.
For silver, the Commission indicated the world market price at US$59.04 per troy ounce, translating to Sh5,050.50 per gram.
The mineral market price was Sh4,545.45 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at Sh4,444.44 per gram.
Meanwhile, copper prices were recorded at US$6.30 per pound on the world market, equivalent to Sh36.95 per gram.
The mineral market price was Sh33.26 per gram, with buying centres offering Sh32.52 per gram.
The Mining Commission regularly publishes indicative mineral prices to improve transparency in the sector, support responsible trading and ensure miners and stakeholders have access to updated market information.
Tanzania’s mining sector remains a key contributor to the economy, with gold continuing to be the country’s leading mineral export and a major source of foreign exchange earnings.
