The Ilala District Court has sentenced 58-year-old Said Hemed Matuli, a resident of Airwing, Ukonga, to 30 years in prison after finding him guilty of raping and impregnating a 15-year-old student.
The case, registered as Criminal Case No. CC 4710/2026, was heard before Magistrate Aneth Nyenyema.
According to the charges presented in court, the victim is a resident of Kitunda. The court was told that the accused allegedly began a sexual relationship with the girl around July 2025.
It was further stated that the two met while the victim was selling vegetables during weekends. The relationship reportedly continued secretly until December 2025, when the victim's mother discovered that her daughter was five months pregnant.
When questioned about the pregnancy, the victim identified Said Hemed Matuli as the person responsible. A DNA test report later confirmed the biological link.
