Koncept AI Academy expands AI transformation drive to Rwanda

By The Respondents Reporter

Koncept AI Academy has expanded its regional footprint with the successful delivery of a high-level Artificial Intelligence (AI) Masterclass for Rwanda’s hospitality industry, reinforcing its ambition to promote practical AI adoption across Africa.

The executive-focused programme brought together hotel owners, general managers, heads of departments and other senior industry leaders from leading hospitality establishments in Rwanda to explore the role of AI in improving operations, customer experience, marketing, revenue generation, productivity and strategic decision-making.

The masterclass forms part of the academy’s broader strategy to equip African businesses, institutions and governments with practical AI skills needed to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.

The Rwanda engagement also strengthened Koncept AI Academy’s partnerships with key institutions, including Mount Kigali University, Royal FM, Paramount Kigali Hotel and various stakeholders within the Government of Rwanda.

According to the academy, these collaborations are expected to support wider efforts aimed at advancing AI education, innovation, digital transformation and institutional capacity development across Rwanda and the region.

Koncept AI Academy, which originated in Tanzania, says its expansion into Rwanda reflects a broader continental vision of helping organisations move beyond understanding AI to applying it effectively in solving real-world challenges and creating new opportunities.

Through specialised masterclasses, executive training, institutional capacity-building initiatives and AI transformation programmes, the academy aims to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and their practical application across industries.

Speaking on the academy’s vision, Koncept Group Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Krantz Mwantepele, said the organisation is committed to making AI knowledge accessible to leaders and institutions across the continent.

“Our vision is bigger than one country. Through Koncept AI Academy, we are taking practical AI education and transformation across Africa and beyond. We want to empower leaders, businesses, institutions and governments with the knowledge and capabilities they need to compete in an AI-driven future,” he said.

Dr. Mwantepele added that Africa should play a more active role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

“Africa must not just consume AI. Africa must lead it. The continent has the talent, ambition, creativity and opportunity to become an active architect of the global AI future. Our mission is to help turn that potential into practical impact,” he said.

The successful Rwanda masterclass marks another step in the academy’s efforts to establish a pan-African platform for AI education, leadership development and digital transformation, as organisations across the continent increasingly seek ways to harness emerging technologies to improve competitiveness and drive growth.

Founded as an AI education and transformation initiative, Koncept AI Academy provides industry-focused training, executive education, capacity-building programmes and strategic advisory services aimed at accelerating responsible and impactful AI adoption across Africa.
