The Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Kapinga, has directed the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) to step up its engagement with exhibitors at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, by offering on-the-spot registration and licensing services at their exhibition stands.
Hon. Kapinga issued the directive yesterday during her inspection visit to BRELA’s exhibition booths located within the Ministry of Industry and Trade pavilion and near the Ministry of Finance pavilion at the ongoing trade fair in Dar es Salaam.
She emphasized that government institutions must use the platform of the national trade fair to reach more entrepreneurs directly, simplify business formalization processes, and reduce barriers that continue to limit the growth of small and medium enterprises.
“Ensure that you visit exhibitors at their stands and assist them in formalizing their businesses. Organize yourselves well so that you can help them resolve their challenges. We are here to facilitate business growth, not to intimidate entrepreneurs. Approach them as business enablers and support them,” she said.
The Minister further stressed that BRELA officers should maintain professionalism, efficiency, and a customer-friendly approach when engaging with business owners, noting that the success of the business environment depends on how well public institutions serve citizens.
She added that improving access to registration and licensing services is a key part of government efforts to strengthen the private sector, promote investment, and expand opportunities for job creation, especially among youth and women entrepreneurs.
Hon. Kapinga also encouraged BRELA to fully utilize digital systems, particularly the upgraded BRELA Online Services (BOS), to ensure faster processing, reduced bureaucracy, and improved service delivery both at the fair and beyond.
BRELA has continued to play a central role at the 50th DITF by providing on-the-spot services that have attracted a large number of exhibitors and visitors seeking quick and reliable business solutions.
Many stakeholders have expressed appreciation for the convenience of accessing multiple services in one location during the exhibition period.
The services offered at BRELA booths include business name registration, company incorporation, trademark and service mark registration, patent registration, issuance of Class A business licenses, and industrial licenses. These services are part of ongoing reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business in Tanzania.
The 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, which commenced on June 28, 2026, continues to serve as a key platform for promoting local and international trade, investment, and innovation, bringing together government institutions, private sector players, and development partners under one roof.
