The discussions were held between the Acting Director of the Europe and Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ms. Ellen Maduhu, and the Ambassador of Serbia to Tanzania, Jovica Topalović, at the Ministry’s sub-offices in the city.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress made in the implementation of various cooperation projects between the two countries.

Both sides assessed achievements recorded so far and exchanged views on existing challenges affecting the smooth execution of joint initiatives.

They agreed on the need to address these challenges in order to ensure that the cooperation delivers more tangible benefits to citizens of both countries.

The talks also provided an opportunity for the two sides to reflect on the future direction of bilateral relations.

They discussed new priorities that will guide the next phase of cooperation, with a strong focus on expanding opportunities in trade, investment, and strengthening diplomatic engagement.

According to the discussions, both Tanzania and Serbia are keen to build on the existing friendly relations by identifying new areas of collaboration that can support economic growth and development.

The emphasis was placed on creating an enabling environment for businesses and investors from both countries to explore emerging opportunities.

Officials noted that enhanced cooperation between Tanzania and Serbia is expected to contribute not only to economic development but also to broader people-to-people connections, which are essential in strengthening long-term diplomatic ties.

The meeting marks another step forward in the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation to deepen international partnerships and advance Tanzania’s foreign policy objectives focused on economic diplomacy.

Both parties expressed optimism that the strengthened collaboration will open new avenues for trade, investment, and closer diplomatic relations in the coming years.
