The Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Zena Ahmed Said, has held constructive talks with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Saudi Arabia, Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, in Riyadh, focusing on strengthening economic diplomacy and expanding cooperation among diplomats.
The meeting provided an important opportunity for Ambassador Zena to formally introduce herself to the diplomatic community in Saudi Arabia while exchanging experiences on how countries can effectively implement economic diplomacy for national development.
Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation among embassies in Riyadh, with both sides emphasizing the importance of diplomacy that delivers tangible economic results, particularly in trade, investment, and development partnerships.
Ambassador Bamakhrama highlighted that Saudi Arabia continues to play a key role in global diplomacy and remains a major hub for investment.
He noted that Riyadh is among the safest and most attractive cities for international business and investment, encouraging diplomats to fully utilize available opportunities to benefit their countries.
He also shared his experience on best practices for implementing economic diplomacy, stressing the need for strong coordination among diplomatic missions to maximize impact for their respective nations.
Additionally, he welcomed Ambassador Zena to the diplomatic community in Saudi Arabia and commended the long-standing friendly relations between Tanzania and Saudi Arabia, expressing confidence that cooperation will continue to grow under her leadership.
On her part, Ambassador Zena reaffirmed that Tanzania and Saudi Arabia enjoy long-standing and mutually beneficial relations.
She said her priority is to further strengthen cooperation in key sectors including trade, investment, tourism, and broader economic development.
She further expressed commitment to working closely with fellow diplomats in Saudi Arabia to advance shared goals.
As a gesture of goodwill, she invited Ambassador Bamakhrama to visit Tanzania and presented him with a photographic gift showcasing Tanzania’s tourism attractions, symbolizing the strong friendship and growing partnership between the two countries.
