Simba SC’s 2-0 victory over Singida BS has further tightened the NBC Premier League title race, keeping pressure on leaders Young Africans SC as the season reaches a decisive stage.
The match, played on June 27, 2026, at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam, saw Simba SC deliver a composed and disciplined performance to collect three vital points in their pursuit of the championship.
Simba broke the deadlock in the 28th minute through Elie Mpanzu, who finished a well-worked move to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
The goal reflected Simba’s early control of the match, as they managed to restrict Singida BS from creating clear scoring opportunities for much of the first half.
In the second half, both teams pushed forward with increased urgency. Singida BS attempted to find an equaliser, but Simba remained organised and resilient.
Their attacking persistence paid off in the 59th minute when Anicet Oura doubled the lead, strengthening Simba’s grip on the game.
Despite efforts from both sides in the remaining minutes, no further goals were scored, as Simba’s defensive structure held firm until the final whistle.
The result lifts Simba SC to 70 points in the NBC Premier League standings, keeping them firmly in contention for the title.
They now sit just two points behind leaders Young Africans SC, who have accumulated 72 points.
With only a narrow gap separating the two rivals, the title race remains highly competitive, promising an intense finish as both teams continue to fight for supremacy in Tanzanian football.
