The Ministry of Finance has invited citizens, business operators, investors, and other stakeholders to visit its pavilion at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba 2026), where a wide range of government financial services and public education programmes are being offered to improve transparency, accountability, and access to information.
The exhibition is taking place at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere grounds in Dar es Salaam from June 28 to July 13, 2026, under the theme “Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair is Tanzania’s Pride,” marking 50 years since the establishment of the fair as a key national platform for trade promotion and public engagement.
Through its participation, the Ministry of Finance is using the platform to bring services closer to the people and enhance public understanding of national budget processes, tax systems, and economic management.
The initiative is also aimed at strengthening awareness on how public resources are planned, allocated, and used in supporting national development priorities.
Officials from the Ministry, working through different departments and units, are engaging directly with visitors by providing explanations on budget preparation and execution, pension administration, public procurement systems, financial sector development, policy analysis, human resource management, and public-private partnership arrangements.
These services are designed to help citizens better understand government financial operations and how they can benefit from available opportunities.
The Ministry is also showcasing the work of key institutions under its portfolio, including the Ministry of Finance alongside institutions such as the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA), Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA), and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), which are providing hands-on services and guidance to the public.
Other participating institutions include the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Tanzania Investment and Development Bank (TIB), Public Procurement Appeals Authority (PPAA), the Soko la Bidhaa Tanzania (TMX), professional bodies in accounting and procurement, microfinance institutions, and training colleges in the finance sector.
These institutions are offering financial literacy education, investment guidance, career advice, and information on economic opportunities available in the country.
Visitors to the pavilion are also receiving simplified explanations on how the national budget is prepared and implemented, how taxes contribute to development projects, and how citizens and businesses can access government-supported financial services and investment platforms.
The Ministry of Finance has emphasized that its participation in Sabasaba 2026 is part of ongoing government efforts to improve service delivery by taking public services closer to citizens in public spaces where people can easily access information, ask questions, and receive direct assistance from experts.
Citizens attending the exhibition are encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunity to engage with professionals, access services, and gain practical knowledge on financial matters that affect their daily lives and business activities.
The Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all visitors to its pavilion receive clear, accurate, and useful information that promotes financial inclusion, supports investment decisions, and strengthens public understanding of the country’s economic systems throughout the exhibition period.
