Minister of State in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Kikwete, has expressed satisfaction with the modern digital system used by the Rural Energy Agency (REA) for planning and monitoring development projects across the country.
The Minister made the remarks on June 17, 2026, after visiting the REA exhibition booth during the opening of Public Service Week 2026 held at Chinangali Park in Dodoma, where various government institutions are showcasing innovations aimed at improving service delivery.
He commended Rural Energy Agency (REA) for developing the REA Digital Platform, describing it as a modern tool that strengthens transparency, efficiency and accountability in the implementation of rural energy projects.
The platform provides a centralized system that displays all ongoing and planned REA projects, enabling real-time monitoring and easy access to information by stakeholders from anywhere in the world. It also allows users to track project progress, locations and implementation status without physical follow-up.
According to REA officials, the system is designed to improve coordination in rural electrification and ensure that information is easily accessible to the public in a timely manner.
Through the platform, citizens can view planned projects in their areas and follow up on their implementation progress.
Speaking during the briefing, Senior Survey Officer from REA, Hussein Shamdas, said the system enables wananchi to identify planned projects within their localities and monitor how they are being implemented on the ground.
He added that the innovation is part of REA’s wider digital transformation efforts aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery.
The Minister noted that the adoption of digital solutions reflects government efforts to strengthen good governance, transparency and accountability in the implementation of public projects.
He emphasized that such systems are key in ensuring citizens receive timely and reliable information on development initiatives.
Public Service Week 2026 continues to bring together government institutions and stakeholders to showcase innovations aimed at improving public service delivery and supporting national development goals.
