'Guardians of the Peak’ Season II trailer set for Dar es Salaam premiere event

Our Respondents reporter,

DAR ES SALAAM, — A documentary project promoting environmental conservation, sustainable tourism and international cultural cooperation will unveil the official trailer for its second season on Wednesday, as organisers seek to expand global awareness of Tanzania’s iconic Mount Kilimanjaro and its environmental significance.

The launch of “Guardians of the Peak Season II”, organised by Ram Films Company and project partners, will take place in Dar es Salaam and bring together government officials, tourism stakeholders, environmental institutions, investors, development partners, members of the Chinese community in Tanzania and representatives of the film industry.

The event will be officiated by Gervas Kasiga, Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Film Board, while Xing Lijun, Director of the China-Tanzania Cultural Centre, will attend as special guest.

The documentary project uses storytelling and visual media to promote environmental protection on Mount Kilimanjaro, encourage the adoption of clean energy solutions, support sustainable tourism and strengthen cultural and economic ties between Tanzania and China.

It also aims to empower young people through education, creative arts and international collaboration.

The trailer launch marks a key milestone ahead of the official premiere of Guardians of the Peak Season II, scheduled for July 18 in Dar es Salaam.

Project organisers said the initiative continues to leverage the power of film to showcase Tanzania’s natural heritage, attract international audiences and promote conservation efforts around Africa’s highest mountain.

The project also seeks to create opportunities for tourism growth, investment and youth engagement through creative industries.

Under the theme “Protecting the Peak, Empowering the Future”, the documentary positions environmental conservation as both a national responsibility and a global concern.

The trailer launch is expected to serve as a precursor to a broader campaign promoting Tanzania’s tourism potential and environmental stewardship to audiences in China and other international markets.
