Dr. John Antony Jingu to be sworn in as Chief Executive Officer of Tanzania Judiciary

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, is today, June 19, 2026, expected to swear in Dr. John Antony Jingu as the Chief Executive Officer (Mtendaji Mkuu) of the Judiciary of Tanzania.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Ikulu in Dar es Salaam, marking an important administrative appointment within the country’s justice system.

Once sworn in, Dr. Jingu will serve as the administrative head of the Judiciary of Tanzania, where he will oversee key management functions including human resources, financial administration, infrastructure development, and overall operational efficiency of the institution.

His role is central to supporting the Judiciary’s mandate of ensuring effective delivery of justice services across the country, working in coordination with judicial leadership to strengthen institutional performance.

The Judiciary of Tanzania has in recent years been implementing various reforms aimed at improving access to justice, enhancing digital systems, and reducing case backlogs in courts at different levels. The appointment of Dr. Jingu is expected to further support these ongoing efforts.
