ACT Wazalendo has urged its members in Mkoani Constituency, South Pemba, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and strengthen efforts aimed at advancing democratic reforms and improving the welfare of citizens.
Speaking during the constituency's General Assembly held in Changaweni, ACT Wazalendo Deputy Secretary General for Zanzibar, Omar Ali Shehe, said the party's future success depends on the commitment, unity and active participation of members at all levels.
He described Mkoani as a key constituency in the party's political strategy, noting that its members have an important role to play in shaping Zanzibar's political landscape and promoting development-oriented leadership.
Mr Shehe said ACT Wazalendo continues to attract public support because of its commitment to democratic governance, accountability and policies focused on addressing citizens' needs.
He urged members to maintain close contact with communities, listen to their concerns and advocate for solutions to challenges affecting their daily lives.
"Political change requires collective effort. Members must remain united, organised and committed to serving the interests of wananchi," he said.
The party official also praised members for their dedication and loyalty, saying their continued efforts have strengthened the party's presence and enhanced public confidence in its leadership.
The meeting reviewed strategies for strengthening party structures at branch and constituency levels, with participants emphasising the need to increase the involvement of women and young people in political and community development activities.
Party leaders expressed optimism that stronger grassroots engagement and organisational capacity would help expand the party's support base and reinforce its role in Zanzibar's political discourse.
